wtf first limewire, now frostwire?

with frostwire it's very easy to tell which ones are a virus wrapped up in the search words you use, which is why I will only put in the song or the artist but not both, if it can't fill in the blank I'm not interested.

Me too I've never managed to download anything dodgy. I have ended up with a few less than top quality tracks, but no viruses!

I've gotten a virus or 2 from torrents. Not any particular site. This last time I had to manually remove a trojan from my HD. Since I'm no computer pro it took me hours. Its still not gone but is no longer corrupting files or causing problems.

I've been downloading torrents for 3 years and haven't gotten a virus yet (knock on wood). I had limewire like a month and I had over 40 virii by the time I was done. Lesser of two evils for me.

Limewire was very different than frostwire for me Lys, I didn't like limewire at all but froswire is pretty much fine by me.

Lys, Can I pay you to come over and show me how this is done?? I have never successfully downloaded a torrent... and I cannot always find streaming links for everything. I have a Mac, if that helps. Do I need to download WinZip?

An ordinary Google search might be worth trying. Entering the song title plus "MP3" usually returns some valid results for me. I actually just used this method to download every episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000; all I did was search for a specific episode title + "RAR" and got a complete, convenient list of RapidShare links- fast, easy, with no special software required and no viruses.

There are also sites like FilesTube which will return nothing but links from RapidShare, MediaFire, MegaUpload, etc.

Lol, I posted a FB update asking about good download sites and totally got attacked. Evidently, one of my "friends" took it personally that I wanted to dl some stuff, since he's in a crappy garage band and all. I went off on him and his bitchy little girlfriend. Seeing as how I've made my whole living as a performer, I hardly need a lecture from him about "stealing" from artists. Little jerkface.
