Both those programs are FULL of virii and adware.

Get utorrent and download torrents from piratebay or other verifiable sources. People will have commented on the torrents so you can tell before downloading if they're going to be an issue.

Good, old-fashioned RapidShare (and similar sites) are another way to go. I can usually find what I what and it's a lot safer.

I just said how to do that. Download utorrent and then go to piratebay.org and download music from there. And yes, they'll go on your iPod. Just drag them from your files onto iTunes.

What's wrong with frostwire? Just out of curiosity, I don't use it.

That's because that's not how they work. A torrent is the file with mp3s IN it. So if you download a torrent, you download mp3s. If you download utorrent and then download a torrent, a window will pop up asking you which files in the torrent you want to download. Those should either be the entire CD you want zipped (openable with WinZip) or mp3s standing on their own (or video files or text files depending on what you were downloading). Torrents are great because you can download an entire CD in one go, but if you dislike a song, you can unclick it and only download the songs you like off the entire album. Same goes for other people's premade playlists.

It's Adaware. It infects your computer to give you popups and basically slows down your whole system and leaves it open for viruses.

torrents are great for some people but even with reviews and shit sayin it's all good if someone starts seeding with a virus(even accidentally, intentions don't matter) the reviews don't mean shit... sorry but I have had so many shitty experiences with torrenting it's just not worth it to me... also the "good reviews" could be the person who wrote the virus, obviously. Also torrents tend to be too much of a pita for the average computer user.

I use frostwire and have never had a problem, though I will check it out later to see if it's working for me still I haven't used it in a while. Yes there are a lot of viruses, in every downloading program... with frostwire it's very easy to tell which ones are a virus wrapped up in the search words you use, which is why I will only put in the song or the artist but not both, if it can't fill in the blank I'm not interested, there are a bunch of other things I use to tell but I don't want to complicate it.
The world isn't waiting for you.

Ad-Aware and Adware are different things!
Adware is a type of virus
    Ad-Aware is a free anti-virus program
