Got hit it in the ass with a car.....what should I do (I'm ok!)

I was at the grocery store today and walked up to my car and had the key in my door when I realized the car next to me was backing out. I screamed and ran away, and the car hit me in the ass/side of hip/waist area.

The lady got out of her, looking really shaken up and was like, " I'm sorry!" I was pissed obviously as well as shocked and frightened and I was like "You should be you just hit me with your car!!" She said "well everybody makes mistakes" and I said, "Lady I make mistakes too but I've never fucking hit somebody with a car" and then started walking to my car.....when I noticed my key had broken in half. The other half of the key was on the ground...I'm not sure because I ran from the car so quickly if I actually had more door open and the key was in the ingnition (I always start the car first in summer to get AC going), or if it was in the door, or if it was in my hand and it broke on the side of her car.

That's when I really got pissed and knocked on her window and asked for her insurance information and driver's license number. I told her "Oh hell no! Now all my groceries are going to be ruined because I'm going to have to wait for somebody to come here and pick me up and take me to get a key from home AND I'm going to have to get the part of my key out of my door or ignition! This is unnaceptable."

She started crying and was like "I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention I just found out that my sister has terminal lung cancer." So at this point I was like....Ugh. Okay why don't you just go home, drive safely and I'll call you and let you know what the damage to the car is.

Well, the piece of the key is not stuck in anything in my car and it appears to be fine. I *think* I'm fine other than a bruised ass, but I've always heard that sometimes you can feel fine and then later have problems.....I'd really like to call her and tell her not to worry about it and everything's fine because I believe that she is really going through a hard time in her life but if something IS wrong later (either with me or my car) I don't want to be fucked because I did that....what should I do? Can I call her?

    Thank you in advance!

    ^^^

I really think I'm okay! I only got so upset because it was VERY scary (I saw the car closing in on me, and ran. I don't really remember exactly what happened until I was on the other side of the car. I'm also very lucky I didn't run into oncomming traffic trying to get away from her).

I really just DO feel bad that she hit me a couple hours after she found out her sister had cancer. I really believe her, and I really think she was upset and sorry, she was sobbing......that's why at first I was pissed because I was like "Why are you crying, I'm the one who just got hit with a car!" If I wouldn't have seen her coming she would have pinned me against my car, which is scary since it is a metal tank, there's no way my bumper would have given way like it would on newer car with plastic parts I would have been REALLY hurt. But luckily I'm okay!!

Glad you are OK! If it really just hit you in the ass you should be fine. The hip is a different matter, but the human ass can take some punishment, it seems.

I almost hit a young punk crossing one of the big party streets in Daytona, he was jaywalking and I was turning right onto the street. I didn't hit him, but it was very close. He threw the piece of pizza he was eating at me and it hit my arm or something. I let it slide since I was (almost) at fault.

^^^ I'm okay. I talked to MissDaSilva on the phone and she talked me into just letting it go but not calling the person. I'm not a saint, she ran into me with her car, and I'm just going to let it go and let her stew on it. Hopefully she doesn't want to run somebody over again

omg I remember in high school my friend was backing out of a grocery store parking lot and she hit a guy and he fell to the ground. I told her "you hit a guy!" and I was 16 so I was laughing. She did not believe me and as soon as he stood up she hit him again! knocked him back down! I was trying to tell her "no , you really hit him!" but I was laughing so hard and couldn't stop. He must have thought she was trying to run him over because he shot up and limp sprinted away even with us chasing after to ask if he was ok, he was screaming "stop it! leave me alone!". I still think it's funny!

    Glad you are ok!

I'm sure she WAS sobbing. She could have lost her license or been sued. If she was in such a state because of her sister that she couldn't drive properly than she SHOULDN'T have been driving!!! What a bitch. Why not, "OMG are you okay?!" instead of, "Boo hoo, let me make excuses". But, I also would just let it go. The pain in the ass is not worth it unless you really have injury issues over it.
