Privacy: Appearing in Google search! (help!)

Hi, ok, first of all let me admit that I was a bit of an idiot and used my normal username/moniker for this site, in order to simplify things and just because, well, i like it.

I just assumed that there are lots of stumbellina's out there.. But Apparently, there are less of us than I thought.
The problem is that when I did a google search of my name today:
On the first page appears my music site, my membership to classical music and orchid-caring forms...and then there's EDN, right at number 5.
This is a bit of a problem for me, as I like to keep my worlds separate, to say the least.

I guess I wrongly assumed that due to the strict verification procedure that the identities of forum members might be a little less...obvious. Or accessible to the general/non-verified public.

My bad, totally. I should have known better..but now that its out there,
What can I do to stop this?
I don't want to leave the site, and I don't see any options pertaining to blocking search engines, nor the ability to change one's username..

I would think your only option would be to sign up under a new username and ask for this one to be banned or deleted (is that possible?), although I'm not sure if that would fully remove you from Google searches.

I think if you PMd an admin they would probably consider changing your name. Then it just takes a few days to fall off the google.

Oh man I am horrified what I found when I googles my name. I cant believe you can read actual threads from edn about how I fucked my husband. And you can see my pics. Yikes, I dunno what to do

It's bad, but not as bad as it could be. Going into EDN on a browser that isn't set to auto-logon, I could see your profile and two "visitor messages"; finding all posts seemed to only show the ones in public areas - same as a non-verified member would see. But it also shows other sites where the name is used - part of what the OP was concerned about. And the post you mentioned wasn't from EDN, it was from the old site, where security was pretty much non-existent.

You're right pan. I'm gonna do some cleaning up today on the real computer and delete delete delete! I'm glad I realized this now
