Small things that lifted your spirits today

There were 2 old ladies at the store today (prob in their 80's). I overheard them talking in line. Apparently one has a new boyfriend...the other said she could tell because "I SAW that wiggle when you were walking". Then they giggled like little girls. Warmed my heart SO much at a time I REALLY needed a pick-me-up. So thanks ladies for lifting my spirits today!

^ awe how cute. My spritis were lifted when I dropped link off at daycare at 8am and saw how excited he was to see the people there. He immediately remembered them from last week and started shaking his little butt like crazy. He was so excited I thought he was gonna pee himself, lol. The he ran up to me and licked me and ran to the play door, like "bye!". Was so cute.

When I woke up and instantly smelled flowers, then looked over and saw them sitting on top of my computer desk.

Yesterday, when my guy went to the dog park with me. It started to rain and he didn't care. he played in the rain with my dogs and then let the 2 muddy boys in his car. but since they were wet and the AC was on, my boys were shivering cold. So he pulled over, found a hoodie in his trunk and wrapped my fithy, muddy dogs in his hoodie so they could be warm.
That may be the most touching thing anyone has ever done. he knows how important my boys are to me, and he treated them just as I would.

I was wondering why they were so bundled up in the summer, that's so sweet!

^ Isn't it? I dunno what was more cute, the boys all wrapped up and snuggled in together to keep warm, or him wrapping them up. It was really touching.

Oh, since they are so little and they have very very short hair, their bellies don't even have any hair, and they are pampered wussy boys, they get chilled very easily. The AC in the house is enough to make them shiver. Dashy has a sweater I leave on the ground for him cause when he gets cold, he will try to put it on. He puts his nose in it and ends up pushign it around the house trying to get it on, and that's why i leave it where he can do that, so if I see him messign with his sweater, I know he wants it on and I help him get dressed.

The lady who does the leases at the Realtor's office had me sign a new lease today, and totally knocked off $150 from rent each month. She had us both whisper so no one would know she was cutting me a break. She was all "I know you're having a rough time, what with your store closing. And you try so hard to keep up. Here's what I can do... shhh, though!"

Lifted spirits- I look good in my jeans even though I'm fat from eating A LOT. (I was celebrating being called fat by a club booking manager. Total punchline for a week. "I'm gonna gorge on this sammich anyway, because I'm already FAAAAAAAAT!" LOL)
Meh, If my ex wife was in the well with the snake and the puppies, she would have ate them all.

Having my favourite person in the world give me the sunshine of his attention, fleeting though it was. And then walking with this blind girl and her dog downtown because she was lost. It was one of those sunny afternoons and it's nice to just kind of chat with friendly strangers and their dogs, you know? And a great ride on my horse. Friday the 13th FTW.

Let's see--Friday the 13th was actually really wonderful to me:

    1. A cop pulled up to the motel I was staying at just as I was packed up and leaving. And he was hot. And as I was checking directions on my phone he pulled his patrol car up to mine and I looked over (because my window was open) and said "hi." and he said, "hi, how are you?" and I said,"good, and you?" and his response was "doing good." okay so all that sounds pretty tepid but when it's a hot cop and you're talking through open car windows, it takes on an aura of kismet or so it felt anyway.

    2. Some guy on couchsurfer, who just met me yesterday night, is totally letting me stay at his house for a couple nights to watch his cat while he's out of town. Wow. Just the amount of trust and goodwill that's offered to someone who's travelling is just really...shit like that makes up for a lot of awful shit that people dothat makes you not believe in humanity or inherent goodness.

    3. Dog and I had an excellent time at dogpark and I had a great hour and a half talk with a guy in his early seventies who's Volvo has over a million miles on it, and goes to the Andes each summer with his wife's Spanish students, and who has drank raw milk his entire life.

    4. And tonight was pretty decent at work. And I met a dude who is a travelling autopart rep so he travels ten hours in everydirection from Amarillo and so we were kvetching about the downsides of travelling and finding out similarities we've had with military stuff and hotels and socialization when travelling. He and I might have lunch tomorrow at my fave local sushi place.
