Analog Girl in a Digital World...

I meant that for most of us reading it, "Please take some good classes before you use these weapons." is an excellent reminder, but that VegasPrincess in particular knows her shit when it comes to weapons (and lots of other things).

Due to yet another creepy visit to Williston North Dakota, I will share these tips in regards to personal safety-
* if you choose to carry a weapon (gun, Taser, collapsible baton, knife, etc.) educate yourself as to the laws where you will be working or traveling....One of my closest acquaintances has been cited more than a few times for weapons in North Dakota because 1) he's usually armed and 2) the cops don't like him. You need to protect yourself legally before you end up in a situation where you are going to be fighting to be taken seriously if you do escape with your life....
* educate yourself on how to prevent dangerous situations. This blog has a lot of helpful info and links about women and self-defense www.adamtglass.com Just type the keywords "crime" "self-defense" and "women's safety" into the site search bar.
* pay attention to your gut feelings and instincts. Think out risky situations, as if you are "thinking/looking ahead" on a long drive or long journey.....Let someone know where you are at all times, and do not take unnecessary risks.
Think creatively about ordinary objects that can be weapons: Knitting needles can be great weapons, yet no one will think twice about it if they see a couple sticking out of a skein of yarn under your car seat; a junior sized base ball bat, 'left behind by a nephew', a golf club even an umbrella...

The whole situation in Juarez is horrifying ... the fact so many people have been locked up and it still continues ... it's really sad.
I'd neve heard of the Green River serial killer before. IDK makes me feel really upset to think of people dying under those circumstances.
